Consults Come First
Every tattoo starts with a free consult. It's a conversation, not a commitment: we talk through the idea, the placement, the size and the price, and you decide from there.
Walk-ins are welcome, but appointments are recommended. We can only see a walk-in if the right artist is free at that moment.
A booking enquiry sent through this website, WhatsApp or email is a request. Your slot is booked once we have confirmed a date and time with you.
Deposits
To hold a tattoo or treatment appointment we ask for a deposit. It secures your artist's time, covers the drawing done before the day, and comes off the final price.
The amount depends on the work. We will always tell you what it is before you pay anything.
A deposit belongs to the booking it was paid for. It is not refunded if you cancel, but it moves with you if you reschedule in good time.
Rescheduling And Cancelling
Life happens. Give us at least 48 hours' notice and we will move your appointment, and your deposit moves with it.
With less than 48 hours' notice, or if you don't arrive, the deposit is kept, because that time can no longer be offered to anyone else. A new booking will need a new deposit.
If we have to move your appointment, for example because your artist is ill, we will offer you the next available slot. If no new date suits you, you get your deposit back in full.
Running Late
Message us if you are running late. We will wait as long as the day allows, but a late start can mean a shorter session or a new date, and a very late arrival may be treated as a missed appointment.
Age And ID
You must be 18 or older to be tattooed or pierced at Step Up, and we ask every client for ID. Please bring yours, even if it feels obvious.
If you are under 18, speak to us before you book. We will explain what we can and can't do, and a parent or legal guardian will need to be involved.
On The Day
- Eat a proper meal beforehand, stay hydrated and get a good night's sleep.
- Skip the alcohol. We won't tattoo or pierce anyone who is under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and a session lost that way counts as a missed appointment.
- Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being worked on.
- Tell us about any medical condition, allergy, medication or pregnancy before we start. It keeps you safe, and it stays between us (see our Privacy Policy).
- You will be asked to read and sign a consent form before we begin.
Small changes to your design on the day are part of the process. A complete change of idea may need a new consult and a new date.
Pricing And Payment
Tattoos are priced on size, detail and placement, so the real number comes at your consult, before anything starts. Piercings are priced on the piercing plus the jewellery you choose.
Prices on this website are starting points to help you plan. The price you pay is the one we quote you.
The balance is paid on the day, once your session is finished.
Flash Designs
Claiming a flash design on this website sends us a message asking for it. The design is yours once we have confirmed it with you.
Your Rights
Nothing in this policy takes away any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law.
