How To Prepare For Your First Tattoo

A good tattoo starts before your appointment. Eat well, stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, wear comfortable clothing & bring any reference images so your artist can guide the design properly.

The day before

Get a proper night's sleep. A rested body sits better and copes better, and you'll enjoy the day more.

Skip the alcohol, and keep drinking water. Arriving hydrated is one of the simplest things you can do for your skin and for yourself.

On the day

Eat a proper meal before you come in, so your blood sugar stays steady through the session. Bring a snack and some water for longer sittings.

Wear comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed. If it's your thigh, think shorts; if it's your shoulder, think vest.

What to bring

Your ID, any reference images, and your questions, written down because it's easy to forget them once you're in the chair.

Your idea doesn't need to be perfect. Bring the screenshot, the sketch, the story. Shaping it into something that works on your body is our job.

In the chair

Feeling nervous is normal, and nobody here will judge you for it. You'll see the design and its placement before anything starts, and you can ask to adjust it.

If you need a break, say so. A good session is a conversation, not an endurance test.

Afterwards

Your artist will give you aftercare instructions on the day. Follow those first. They're written for your tattoo, your skin and your placement.
