Hands off
The single most useful rule: don't touch it. No twisting, turning or fiddling with the jewellery. Every touch is a chance to irritate a fresh piercing.
Keep it clean, gently
Clean it the way your piercer showed you, and nothing more. Harsh products and over-cleaning irritate healing skin rather than help it.
Stay out of the water
Avoid swimming while it heals: pools, the sea, baths. Water you can't control is water you can't keep clean.
Mind the snags
Watch for anything that catches or presses on it: clothing, hair, headphones, a phone, the pillow you sleep on. Irritation around the area slows healing down.
When in doubt, ask
Your piercer's advice comes first, so follow it closely. And if something doesn't feel right, message us. We'd much rather see it early.
Still got questions?
Ask us straight, or come in for a free consult and talk it through in person.
